Chewelah's Chataqua celebration has become the annual event that everyone looks forward to. Started over 36 years ago, this fair features a large artist community showing their works, a fun-filled, action-packed carnival, free CenterStage entertainment, a pleasant beer garden by the creek, a huge food court, beautiful displays of merchandise and products, a wonderful parade, and an exceptional record for great weather.
Set in the Chewelah City Park on green lawn with the creek meandering through the fair, a summer day at Chataqua can be enjoyable and relaxing. The children's playground is located right next to the vendor booths and the carnival offers endless activity for youngsters of all ages.
This is a great opportunity to meet the artists and talk with them about their work. The quality of participating artists is excellent and over the years many of our artisans return again and again.
A dairy ice cream booth, fresh squeezed lemonade, stir fry, Indian bread, corn on the cob, checken, hamburgers, and much, much more, plus your favorite brew - what more could a person ask for? It is the kind of fair you will come back to again and again.
